It’s hard to set with precision the origins of the Mechanics. What is right, as you’ll see next, it’s their origin has a connection with the Astronomy.
The celestial bodies’ movement has been observed and studied so intensity for several civilizations until the now days.
Could define as the Mechanics preliminary phase that that the human realized the existence of the movements, both in skies and on earth. This first phase was essentially about observations. Looked for, on that phase, take advantage of the regulation of the celestial bodies’ movements.
The next phase of the Mechanics would be that which the people looked for understand the movements incorporating this understanding process a little bit of rationality.
This context is where the natural philosophy of the Greeks is acceptable. The occidental culture was a little influenced for the oriental vision about the universe.
This context is adopted the point of view that the Mechanics’ origins, also as Physic and all the Occidental science, coincides with the initial period of Greek’s philosophy. The knowledge encompassed, in the Old Greek, the totality about the rational knowledge achieved until then for the man.
